I hope you all had a great long weekend. Summer is coming to an end and I thought it would be a great time to share some fall makeup trends & product updates for your makeup bag. Similar to fashion, fall makeup is a little more refined than the casual and easy breezy makeup looks of summer and I am here for it! There are a few makeup trends, I am staying far away from, but for women my age (40+), I am all about overall glowy skin, enhanced eyes (hello masks) and a pop of color on your lips that won’t smudge underneath your mask. I am sharing my favorite products to update your makeup bag and easily transition to Fall, along with a mini tutorial and why I love each product, over on my Instagram! Enjoy!
FALL MAKEUP TRENDS & PRODUCT UPDATES

URBAN DECAY ALL NIGHTER ULTRA GLOW
This setting spray will make your makeup last all day and all night and leaves your skin with a lovely luminous and healthy glow. No sparkles or glitter. It is like an Instagram filter in a bottle and is also great to refresh your makeup during the day.
Apply this primer under your foundation to smooth out texture and pores and give your skin a candle lit glow. It is one of my favorite primers for dry & mature skin and wakes up tired skin instantly.
These are truly the prettiest and easiest to use blushes and a great product for enhancing the overall glow. One or 2 drops on a brush applied to the apples of cheeks leaves the prettiest flush of color. I adore them.
LAURA MERCIER SETTING POWDER IN GLOW
I swear by the original Laura Mercier setting powder and this version is perfect for dry and mature skin. It leaves your skin radiant and healthy looking and helps your makeup last all day long.
A huge fall trend is heavy liner. I guess it makes sense as we are all wearing masks nowadays. This is my favorite liquid liner. It can be tricky to apply and the easiest way to do it is to lay it horizontally and stamp it across your lashlines as opposed to dragging it.
One of the best foundations on the market today, period! It is perfect for evening out your skin tone without looking heavy and leaves a pretty, healthy glow. This foundation is perfect for dry and mature skin and such a bargain! I blend 2 shades together for a custom color match.
Full and “fluffy” brows are in and I am here for it. In my opinion, fuller brows are more youthful and this is one of the easiest to use products and best ways to achieve that look. Just come through your brows in an upward motion to add fullness and volume without looking too done!
OPI INFINITE SHINE IN LINCOLN PARK AFTER DARK
A classic polish for fall and one of the easiest ways to transition your look. Pick up a bottle of this deep purple shade that is a cult classic and makes you look and feel instantly refined. I do my nails at home and this is as close to a gel manicure you will get without the hassle.
CHARLOTTE TILBURY EASY EYE PALETTE
Rich metallics on the eyes are so beautiful and really make them pop. However, when you are my age, you have to be very careful and apply shimmer sparingly. My favorite way to apply is with my fingers and I add just a pop right on the center of my eyeball, keeping it close to my eyelash line. It is one of my favorite tricks for making my eyes really stand out and sparkle.
MAYBELLINE SUPERSTAY INK CRAYON
A bold lip is another fall trend. If you love a pop of color on your lips, make sure to tone down everything else and balance the look with minimal makeup everywhere else. A bold lip and wearing face masks doesn’t always go hand in hand, but these lip crayons, once dry, will stay put and not smear or stain, so they are perfect for under a mask and they feel like nothing at all. I am a huge fan.
That’s it! Have fun experimenting and I hope you found some new products to love!
