If you have been following we for a while, you know that I love my bed. I am not a morning person or a night owl and I love sleeping. Since we are all stuck at home right now, we decided to give our bedroom a little upgrade and create a peaceful and calm oasis of rest and relaxation. To me, sleep is a crucial component of self care and now more than ever, taking good care of ourselves is so important. Today, I am excited to share my favorite tips and product recommendations for how to get a good night’s sleep.
- This post is brought to you in partnership with Nectar Sleep. As always, thank you so much for supporting the brands that support my blog.
HOW TO GET A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP
I think it is so important to create a nighttime routine, or a few rituals, that signal your brain to wind down and get ready for bed. For me, that is a cup of sleepytime tea, pajamas and my evening skincare routine. I also put essential oils in my diffuser and spray my pillow with this Pillow spray. It helps create a soothing atmosphere and sets the mood for rest and relaxation.
PAJAMAS – These are my current favorite pajamas. They are so soft and pretty and the perfect dupe for the pricier Eberjey brand. I own them in every color. They are soft and comfy and not too thick, so I don’t get all hot and sweaty during the night. The mattress also helps greatly with that!
A GOOD MATTRESS | A good mattress is key in getting a great night’s’ sleep. We recently got a Nectar Sleep mattress and we absolutely love it. It is truly the most comfortable mattress at a great price. Getting it delivered straight to your door was great, especially during this time of social distancing and sheltering in place. I have always been a big fan of delivery, but I am now more than ever. We let it sit in our garage a couple of days and then opened it up. (go to my Instagram to see a fun unboxing video and a rare glimpse of Mr. B) My husband has a bad back and is super picky and he loves this mattress. He gets sweaty at night and this mattress has really helped him stay cool. I love the fact that it minimizes motion transfer, so I don’t bounce up and down when he is tossing and turning. (Now, if they could only fix his snoring, I would be a happy camper.) Right now, they are running an amazing offer. It is actually THE BEST offer they have ever had. With every mattress purchase, you will receive a free mattress protector ( a $99.00 value), a free set of sheets ($150.00 value) and free premium pillows ($150.00 value) that is over $399.00 worth of free stuff with every mattress purchase. Wow! There is truly no better time to buy a new mattress, if you have been thinking about it. Plus, it comes with a 365 night home trial, plus free shipping and returns, so it is risk free! ( Sale ends tomorrow night)
ESSENTIAL OILS & PILLOW SPRAY | I love diffusing essential oils in by bedroom throughout the day to create a soothing environment. My absolute favorite combination is Lavender & Stress Easy, but I also love the Sleep one. They are all available in their starter kit. We all have diffusers in our bedrooms and my son asks for his oils every night as well. I also spray my pillow with this Pillow Spray. Both have become essential to my night time routine and I can’t live without them.
SILK PILLOW CASE AND SLEEPING MASK | I wear a sleeping mask almost every night. I love the one that came with my favorite silk pillowcase, which has quickly become another nighttime essential for me. A silk pillowcase is one of the best things you can do for anti aging. It is made from 100% mulberry silk and helps reduce skin & hair friction. It also doesn’t absorb your expensive night creams and serum like a cotton pillow case does. I just love sleeping with it and my husband calls it my princess pillow.
BLACKOUT CURTAINS | I need total darkness to sleep and I am not a lover of sunlight peeking in. I have these amazing blackout curtains and rods that keep the room dark until I am ready for it to be light and bright. They are surprisingly affordable too!
There you have it, my best tips and products for getting a good night’s sleep, because right now, that is more important than ever for staying healthy, both mentally and physically. Sending you all love and light!
