I have had SO many questions about dark circles and concealer recommendations lately, so I decided I would put all of my information in a blog post about how to get rid of dark circles. I felt like the best way to convey all of what I have to share is to break it into 2 posts. So, the concealer post is coming next week. The honest truth is, nothing gets completely rid of them, but there are things that can help reduce their appearance, and a good concealer is magical in erasing them, albeit temporarily. Getting that right can be quite tricky, so we will delve into that topic later. But first things first. Let’s briefly chat about what causes dark circles in the first place. If puffiness and under eye bags are more your issue, you might want to check out this blog post.
WHAT CAUSES DARK CIRCLES?
Dark circles are often hereditary (thanks, mom) but can be exacerbated by things such as lack of sleep, seasonal allergies, dehydration and drinking too much alcohol. Taking an antihistamine can be helpful in alleviating seasonal allergy symptoms. Thinning skin as we age can also be a contributing factor. Oh, the joys of getting older. There is no cream on the market that will fix this issue, at least not that I have found. If there is such a magic potion out there, please let me know. But, there a brightening creams that can help camouflage dark circles and tighten the skin around the eye, with such ingredients as peptides, hyaluronic acid and caffeine, to reduce their appearance, and the addition of luminizing agents to give the illusion of brighter eyes.
CATCH SOME ZZZ’S AND DRINK MORE WATER

HOW TO GET RID OF DARK CIRCLES
The obvious thing is to make sure you get enough sleep and drink lots of water. Easier said than done, am I right? You are supposed to drink half of your body weight in ounces of water every day. Consuming that amount throughout the day is tough for me. However, seeing the benefits when I do manage it, encourages me to keep going. I just feel better overall and more energized. I have been using this electrolyte powder to increase my hydration and I think it has helped. You can read more about it in this post. Getting enough sleep is vital, but hardly anyone every does. I think we just need to make it a priority. Enough said.

It helps restore the thinning under the eyes by encouraging collagen production, hence helping with dark circles and puffiness. I roll it under my eye area and immediately apply my eye cream after and do this about 2×3 times a week.
Applying eye cream regularly will not only help improve your dark circles, it will also help keep that area hydrated and reduce dryness and texture. Applying concealer will become much easier.
In my next post, I will chat all about concealers. What concealer mistakes you could be making, how to fix them, which one to choose, and how to apply it correctly. Have a great weekend and get some sleep!
XO,

I have very sensitive oily skin with dark under-eye circles. Get rid of dark circles I have been using under eye treatment of dermalmd for a little over a month. Dermalmd undereye serum does exactly what it claims it does. There are lots of eye creams out there that are too heavy and perfumy. This dermalmd serum is light and there is no scent so it is very wearable for me. It absorbs very quickly and I have no problem wearing it all day. I recommend this eye serum because it has no scent and its very hydrating and it is very lightweight.
Thank you for the tip. I will check it out.
