If you have been following me for a while, you know that I am obsessed with the Urban Decay Makeup Setting Spray. It is one of my holy grail makeup products. I recently picked up 2 more bottles for a really good deal at Ulta, so today I thought I would share my 5 ways to use makeup setting spray. There is more to this stuff than meets the eye, and its versatility goes way beyond using it as a setting spray when your makeup is all done. Today I am sharing 5 ways to use makeup setting spray that will blow your mind and bullet proof your makeup. I share a few other tips for making your makeup last in this post as well.
SET & REFRESH YOUR MAKEUP THROUGHOUT THE DAY

This is the obvious way to use it and believe me, it is a game changer. I use this on all of my clients and get so many messages that their makeup lasted well into the wee hours of the morning. The key is to be generous with it and let it dry down completely. It also makes your makeup mesh together and takes down that powdery, I just did my makeup, look.
SPRAY YOUR BEAUTY BLENDER BEFORE APPLYING FOUR FOUNDATION

SETTING SPRAY | BEAUTY BLENDER
It is a common misconception that you need to wear a lot of makeup to make it last. This little hack is a great way to make sure your foundation stays put all day long without wearing alot of it and also gives you a natural, airbrushed finish. Simply spray your damp beauty blender with makeup setting spray and then dab on your foundation.
GIVE YOUR EYESHADOW SOME DRAMA AND STAYING POWER

The holiday season is upon us and so are more dramatic makeup looks. I prefer to spray my eyeshadow brush with setting spray to amp up the intensity of shimmer eye shadows, while minimizing fallout and making your look last all night long.
USE WITH POWDER SHADOW TO MAKE EYELINER BULLET PROOF

This is a favorite trick of mine. I don’t like using pencil eyeliner because it typically has a wax base , which tends to smudge. Think about it – when you heaT up wax, it runs. A similar things happens when a wax based eyeliner pencil heats up on your face – it starts to smudge. I spray my flat eye liner brush with setting spray, wipe of the extra and then use black liner to push the pigment into my lashline. I talk more about this technique in my Instagram stories.
FIX CONCEALER CREASING

SETTING SPRAY | CONCEALER BRUSH
This has to be one of my favorite tricks and best kept secrets. Concealer is typically quite a dense product and tends to crease under the eye area after it warms up on the face, similar to the eyeliner pencils I mentioned above. A quick fix to blend out creases and prevent it from happening again is to spray your concealer brush with setting spray and then blend it it out. I prefer this technique of adding a setting powder, as that can make the skin under the eye look dry very quickly and age look aging, especially if you are over 40, like me. This is a foolproof way to fix it and prevent it from happening again without adding another layer of products.

Ok I just ordered this spray! under eye creasing is the biggest issue I have – Im 37 and have genetically horrendous blue circles under my eyes since birth basically. I finally have a good under eye corrector (the charlotte tilbury magic corrector is the best to date- I think Ive tried them all) and this added step might be what I need! Thank you!
Glad you found this helpful. Keep me posted on your progress.
I am loving this method! Thank you for this amazing tip- I dont know how I ever wore makeup without the setting spray and the concealer tip! I went all day yesterday and my super dark circles were barely peaking through after 8 hours, whereas they usually pop through my concealer after like 3 hours. Thank you again!
You are so welcome! Glad it is working for you. ❤️
Thank you for sharing your tips especially for women with mature skin. Question…I love the eyeshadow palette, which brand is it?
Hi there, I am glad you enjoyed this post. The palette is linked under the photo of the palette (just click on on the words shadow palette) and where it says “shop this post”. Simply scroll through with the arrow on the right until you hit the palette). Thanks again for stopping by.
Love this post, but I am coveting your nail polish. What brand/color is it? Thanks!
Currently writing a blog post about all of my favorites. It should be up later today.
