My family and I are going on vacation to Florida at the end off this week and I could not be more excited. We are heading to Rosemary Beach and I can not wait to get my toes in the sand and relax. Over the years, I have accumulated a few really good travel beauty hacks & packing tips and that I wanted to share with you today.

MY TOP 8 TRAVEL BEAUTY HACKS

The challenge with travelling often is that you want all of your favorite beauty products, but you don’t want to lug them with you. At least I don’t. (My friend brought her entire contents of her bathroom vanity with her on our Bahamas trip and I was awestruck.)
I have figured out some great ways to bring my favorite beauty products with me and stay fresh and put together looking, without lugging along a lot of bulky products. Here are my best tips and tricks.
SKINCARE TRICKS

1. Make your own pre-soaked makeup remover pads.
One of my favorite tricks is to take a few cotton rounds, squirt them with micellar water and place them in a ziploc bag. This is the first step in my morning beauty routine and I hate to be without it. My skin is so sensitive and this is a really gentle way to clean it without causing irritation. The rounds are so soft as well and don’t irritate my skin at all. This way, I simply place one pre-soaked round for each day in a bag and I am all set.
2. Make your own eye makeup remover swabs
In similar fashion, I also fill one contact lense case with eye makeup remover and place it in a ziploc snack bag, along with a few cotton swabs. Now I have a weeks worth of eye makeup remover swabs without the bulk.
3. Stash makeup wipes in your beach bag, purse & glovebox

I love the convenience of makeup wipes and carry them with me at all times. Sometimes they come in handy during other situations as well. The other day, my boys were eating messy chilly dogs at the ballpark and the wipes were perfect for cleaning their hands. They are also fabulous in your beach bag to freshen up from sweat and grime and sunscreen if you are heading to dinner or drinks right from the beach. You would be shocked at how many times I have pulled these wipes out of my glove box and I would be lost without them. These have saved us more than once. I love that Swisspers makeup wipes are ph balanced and work for my sensitive skin. They are paraben-free, phthalate free, alcohol & oil-free and biodegradable, so I feel good about not polluting the environment. They also don’t irritate my sensitive, contact lens wearing eyes.
4. Make your own sheet masks and sunburn treatment pads
If you forgot your favorite sheet mask, simply soak a few cotton rounds in you favorite toner and again, place in a ziploc bag. Make sure they are saturated. Then place in fridge when arriving at beach house.Place cold pads where needed to soothe and refresh your skin after after a long beach day. I love using a cucumber or rosewater toner for this. You know I am always preaching about sunscreen, but if you do get a sunburn, you can also soak some cotton rounds in aloe vera gel and put them in the fridge or even freeze them for some sunburn relief.
MAKEUP TIPS

1. Use swabs to smudge eyeliner and lip liner
One of my favorite tips is to use the Swisspers cotton swabs to apply and smudge my eyeliner, and also to soften my lip liner. I always carry plenty of these swabs in my travel bag. I also love the cute leopard design on them. My summer beauty routine is pretty uncomplicated (you can read more about it here) and I don’t use any brushes at all. This keeps my summer makeup bag delightfully uncluttered. I use the swaps to apply my cream shadows as just a liner under my eyes for a sultry evening look evening, or smudge out my lipliner for a soft look. They also come in super handy to fix makeup mistakes.
2. Keep your powder products from breaking
This one is pure genius. Place a cotton round on top of each of your powder compacts. It will provide an extra buffer and keep your pressed powder products from shattering should they be dropped, or manhandled during airplane flights.

3. Make your own nail polish remover pads
I have talked about how I don’t love gel manis and mostly do my own nails. ( You can read more about that here. I always pack my nail polish essentials so I can touch up during trips. I saved an old moisturizer jar and filled it with these Swisspers cotton pads that I soaked in nail polish remover. The pads are lint free so they are great for removing nail polish without getting any fuzzies. Sure, you can buy the already, pre-soaked and individually wrapped pads, but they are so expensive. You can make make these for a fraction of the cost.
4. Use cotton balls to prep a to-go kit

You can apply your bronzer, blush, highlighter and translucent powder to a cotton ball and then store the pre-loaded cotton ball in your purse or beach bag for a quick application without carrying around your entire makeup bag. Another one of my favorite uses for cotton balls is to use one at the end of my makeup application to buff and blend out my makeup. They are a great on-the-go substitute for a makeup brush, which I tend to travel without during the summer months.
As you can see, the uses are endless. I am always stocked up on these beauty basics and they are a huge part of my everyday beauty routine. I hope you found this helpful and don’t forget to stock up at Amazon yourself and use code 15BEAUTYBLOT for a 15% savings.
