I have been getting a few questions about my current skincare routine. If you have been following me for a while, you know that I have mature, sensitive skin with rosacea. In general, the less I do to my skin, the better it looks and feels. I do change out products every season and this is my current summer skincare routine. It is really pretty simple, but effective. It is my opinion, that a good skincare routine does not have to be complicated to be effective. In general, I believe the less steps it has, the more likely you are to stick to it and see results and it takes at least 6 weeks for that to happen. So many people say that they have tried all of these products that did nothing for them. But the truth is, in general, people don’t give the product a chance and enough time to actually work. To keep it in perspective, optimal results are usually seen after 18 months of continued use.
Also, It is good to do a skincare reset every once in a while. If your skin is acting a bit crazy and you can’t figure out what is going on with it, go back basics. Just cleanse & moisturize with basic products for 6 weeks and use sunscreen. That is it. Then you can slowly add it products one at a time.
MY CURRENT SUMMER SKINCARE ROUTINE

I recently discovered a new Skincare line, Dr. Loretta, that I have been using almost exclusively at night. It has done wonders for my skin and I actually had the chance to meet Dr. Loretta in person a few weeks back. She is a dermatologist with over 40 years of experience and has developed skincare for plastic surgeons in the past. She has finally decided to create her own line and I am so glad she did. Meeting her was very insightful and you can find out more about her line here, but suffice it to say I am a huge fan. It is available locally at Wrabyn and the owner Wendy, is so sweet and helpful. She went to NYC for a training and is well versed in the whole line and can help you find the products that are right for you. Personally, I always love to support local businesses.
My skincare routine changes slightly with every season and today I am sharing my current, summer skincare routine with you. Here are the products I use and the steps.
MY EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE

CLEANSE | I use this Dr. Loretta Hydrating Cleanser in the morning and at night. In the evening, I apply it to dry skin and let it sit 2-3 minutes on my skin while I brush my teeth. It doubles as a detoxifying mask that way. I wash it off with warm water and a soft wash cloth.
TREAT | Once my skin is dry, I use my PRO GLOW Dermaroller on my checks, chin, forehead and under the eye area. I swear by this gadget and have been using it religiously. I swear, is has helped fix my rosacea. It is an initial investment, but in my opinion, it is worth every single penny. I couldn’t live without it any more. I then apply my Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. It is like liquid gold for my skin. I am also dying to try the Dr.Loretta Anti-Age Repair Serum, but they were out at the time. I will try that next.
HYDRATE | I finish with this Dr. Loretta Anti-Aging Repair Moisturizer and her Tightening Eye Gel. I absolutely love both.
MY MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE

You can certainly use Dr. Loretta products in the morning and at night, to keep your routine super simple. But, I am currently using these products in the morning and they work well for me.
CLEANSE | I use the Dr. Loretta Gentle Hydrating Cleanser to wash my face, or I just use a cotton pad and some micellar water.
TREAT| I apply 2 pumps of the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Vitamin C Serum. It helps with firmness and uneven skin tone &texture.
HYDRATE | Next I apply my Supergoop Daily Moisturizer that contains SPF40 already, so there is no need for an additional sunscreen. I mix a few drops of this Clarins Radiance Plus Golden Booster to give me a little sun kissed glow. I am a huge fan of this Origins Ginzing Eye Cream in the morning. It contains caffeine for de-puffing and a bit of radiance to brighten the under eye area. It is the perfect texture for under makeup and my skin drinks it up.
That is it. So simple, but it works. Let me know, if you have any questions. Have a great rest of your week!
XO,

PIN THIS:

Girl, great minds think alike! I just published a post earlier this week all about my skincare routine! I’ve never tried Dr. Loretta products, but I absolutely love my GlowPro and all things Kiehl’s! I think my new favorite step in my skincare routine is my serum- I never heard of them until this year, and I feel like they’re a total game changer. Great post!
