A Glowing Bronze Makeup Look
It is November and the holiday season is officially around the corner. I will be sharing a couple of easy party makeup looks in the next few weeks, starting with this glowing bronze makeup look. It is easy to achieve and works for everyone, including women my age. I have included a complete tutorial, including how to create the quick & easy smokey eye. I know a smokey eye can seem intimidating and tricky, but I promise you can do it in just 4 easy steps.

All of the products I used for this look are available at Macy’s. Have you checked out their beauty department recently? All I can say is WOW! They have really stepped up their beauty game. While taking a look online the other day, I was super impressed by their selection and sales. They carry a lot of my favorite brands and there is always a sale or a special going on. Let’s just say, they will be on my beauty radar from now on. The other day I snagged a bottle of my favorite perfume at 50% off. If you are a beauty lover, you know that beauty products hardly ever go on sale, so this was huge. I am definitely making Macy’s part of my holiday shopping this year and so should you.
(Right now, there is a complimentary gift with purchase on any Laura Mercier purchase over $50.00. I love their stuff and use a few of her items in this tutorial.)
A Glowing Bronze Makeup Look
This look is great for any upcoming party and/ or special occasion and is perfect for more mature women, as it leaves your skin soft and glowing. Almost like that magical Instagram filter. Follow my easy steps and you will be a glowing holiday goddess in no time.
Prep your skin
I always say, makeup is only as good as the canvas it it applied upon, so make sure your skin is exfoliated and well hydrated before applying any makeup look. I love this moisturizer under my makeup. It soaks right in and leaves your skin plumped and ready. After that, a good primer is key in achieving a flawless makeup application. Primer makes everything go on smoother and last longer. I am loving this new brightening version of my all-time favorite primer, The Porefesional, by Benefit. This primer brightens and wakes up your complexion and is perfect for the colder weather. I apply a pea sized amount all over my face. The key is to let it dry before applying anything else over it to avoid pilling. Then I move on to my eye makeup.
A Quick & Easy Smokey Eye
I always do my eye makeup before applying my foundation and concealer. It makes fixing mistakes so much easier and gives you a much cleaner look. I know a smokey eye can be scary, but this is super easy and doable, I promise. I am loving the caviar sticks by Laura Mercier for this look. They come in a bunch of beautiful colors, are so easy to use and stay in place, once they are applied. I chose Rose Gold and Cobblestone, for a soft, bronzy look and to really make my blue eyes pop. I then applied my favorite Bobbi Brown gel liner in black to the base of my lash line with this brush and to the outer corners of my bottom lashes and finished up with a generous coat of mascara.
Apply Foundation and Concealer
For this look, I chose the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer to even out my skin. I applied it with a damp Beauty Blender to achieve a flawless and airbrushed finish. The key to a flawless complexion is to even out your skin with a sheer layer of foundation and then go back and apply concealer under the eyes and wherever else you need a little extra help. You will use much less products this way. This Nars Concealer has quickly become my new favorite. It has a lightweight texture and is easy to apply, yet covers flawlessly. So many people have told me how much they love it. I then use the Laura Mercier translucent powder to set everything and give me that airbrushed finish. It is one of the best products on the market, in my opinion, and really makes your makeup last. For more mature skin, remember to use powder very sparingly and only where needed. I didn’t apply any to my cheeks, just through the t-zone and under the eye area.
Get Glowing
The focus of this look is on the eyes, so everything else is kept very simple and fresh looking. After perfecting my complexion, I apply this bronzer to my temples and cheek bones to give me an all over glow and make my skin look flawless. This bronzer is absolutely fantastic, and so many makeup artists carry it in their kit for good reason. What makes it special is that it is very sheer and gives you a healthy, just back from vacation glow. It is great year round. Applying it with the Beauty Blender makes it look completely natural and flawless.
Lips
All this look needs to be completed is a sheer swipe of a pinky nude gloss. No liner required. I love a sheer neutral lip with a smokey eye to keep everything in balance. I have been loving this Buxom Gloss in Sophia and have been wearing it non stop. It plumps your lips and gives them a tingly feeling. This color is simply gorgeous and compliments this look perfectly. It is super low maintenance and easy to re-apply throughout the night.
Seal the Deal
Lastly, I use this setting pray to set my makeup and make it last all night long. This stuff is the real deal, ladies. I use it on all of my brides to get them from ceremony to cocktails with no touch ups necessary. If it is good enough for them on their big day, it is good enough for me. This makes THE biggest difference in making your makeup last all night. Macy’s is selling a 2 pack for $39.00, which is a steal of a deal.
