I don’t know about you, but I love good, classic wardrobe essentials. There are certain clothes every woman should have in her closet. They go with everything, last for years and can be combined with some trend items to keep your wardrobe current. This outfit is a perfect example.
COMBINING CLASSIC WARDROBE ESSENTIALS & TREND ITEMS
Classic Wardrobe Essentials:
A Cashmere Sweater// The cashmere sweater is a staple item that I have had for years. I wear it with everything from denim to my faux leather Spanx and it is great over dresses and with skirts. The possibilities are endless.
Animal print Flats// The shoes are old, I have had them for about 5 years, but they still look like new. Here is the current version, which I am obsessed with. Animal print isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, so these are a worthwhile investment. I also wore them in this post and this one. (I am getting my use out of them)
A leather bag// The bag is another oldie, but a goodie and I haven’t been able to find anything similar, but it just goes to show that a good leather bag is worth the money as well. I purchased it almost 20 years ago during my retail days at Banana Republic. Typically, good quality leather bags get better with age and become super soft and pliable. I recently got this one and I am loving it. It fits my laptop perfectly and is not too big. ( I will be posting it in more detail soon.)
TREND ITEMS:
A pair of jeans// These jeans are a fun twist on the basics. I am a big fan of Old Navy jeans, always have been, for their quality and price point. The rockstar cut is my absolute favorite, and these are a fun, current version. The cropped, raw hem is a nice update.
Necklace// Fashion jewelry is a great way to update your wardrobe on the cheap and keep it on trend. In general, I am not a fussy person, so I usually get a necklace or 2, some cute earrings and I am all set for the season.
Sunnies// I have my good ray-bans that I have had forever and I love them, but I am a sucker for a cute, cheap pair of sunnies. Especially when traveling, I like to leave the good ones at home. It is not worth the hassle if they are left behind, and I have done it too many times.

Rather than buying a new wardrobe each season, shop your closet for staples or invest in quality pieces. Then sprinkle in a few fun accessories to keep it current and you are golden.
Hope this helps!
