I get a ton of questions on how to apply blush, so I share the tips and favorite products in this short clip. As with most makeup products, there is a right way and a wrong way to apply blush. When done right, it creates an optical illusion of health and wellness and draws the eye to wherever it is applied. In my opinion, everyone looks good with blush and it should mimic a natural flush, so brown tones are out. Peaches and pinks are best and most universally flattering. This video focuses on how to apply blush in cream form. However, the same rules apply to powder blushes as well. Just remember to tap off any extra before applying, so you don’t end up with a blob of color you then have to blend out.
THE MOST FLATTERING BLUSHES & HOW TO APPLY THEM

I taped this video on how to apply blush during the summer time, but it applies year round. I hope you find these tips helpful and please let me know, what else you want to know about. You can leave a comment below with your questions.
THE MOST FLATTERING BLUSHES & HOW TO APPLY THEM
I also want to share some of my most favorite, universally flattering blushes.
NARS THE MULTIPLE IN ORGAMS// This blush has reached cult status and for good reason. It is gorgeous on everyone and is said to mimic the post coital flush, hence its iconic name. It is the perfect combo of pink and peach, with a flattering sheen. The stick is great for travel and can also be used on lids and lips for a quick & easy makeup look.
NARS POWDER BLUSH IN ORGASM// Just as good as the above mentioned cream version, it is beautifully pigmented and leaves the perfect amount of flush on the cheeks.
TARTE AMAZONIAN CLAY BLUSH// These blushes are so easy to use and leave a natural looking flush on your cheeks all day long. My favorite shades are EXPOSED ( a nude pink) and RISQUE ( a peachy nude).
WANDER BEAUTY ON-THE-GLOW BLUSH// This convenient stick has made on appearance on this blog many times, including here and here. I love the blush/highlight combo for quick & easy application and the colors are so flattering and pretty. Great for travel as well.

BENEFIT BLUSH IN CORALISTA// A warm coral pink that flatters every complexion and the pretty packaging is to die for. It also comes with its own brush and smells delicious.
HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHTING BLUSH// It looks bright in the compact, but leaves a beautiful, glowing flush on the apples of your cheeks, like you just went for a walk in the brisk air.
MILANI BAKED BLUSH// One of the best drugstore blushes out there, and maybe even one of the best, period. A lot of bloggers love the LUMINOSO shade and tout it as the perfect Nars Orgasm dupe. Personally, I also love the shade DOLCE PINK.
GLOSSIER CLOUD PAINT// Sheer, pretty and so easy to use. This is a great blush for beginners and young girls as well. If you are scared of blush, this is the one is for you. The sheer gel is easy to apply with fingers and you can’t apply too much. In other words, you can’t mess this one up.
PIXI GLOWY POWDER IN ROME ROSE// This powder is beautiful and leaves just the right amount of color and glow on your cheeks.
STILA CONVERTIBLE COLOR // My first job ever in this industry was for Stila cosmetics and I still have a soft spot in my heart for that brand. These cream blushes have been around since the beginning and are still around for good reason. just dab a little on the apples of your cheeks for natural, sheer color.

Would you recommend using blush powders or liquid blush? 🙂
It depends on your skin type. I like both, depending on the situation.
Thank you for sharing this piece of information, can we use liquid blush for oily skin?
