Happy Weekend! Lots of you wanted me to share this recipe with you, so I am doing it just in time for the weekend. This is the best quick & easy chili recipe. It can be made in a cinch and has only 5 ingredients. During the colder months, I always have these items on hand, so it is easy to whip up on a moment’s notice.
This is perfect for a cold night or Football Sunday. If you are serving a crowd, a fun option is to set up a chili bar with various toppings, so guests can customize their bowl. Have a great weekend everyone!
Ingredients:
1 pound of ground beef or turkey (turkey is healthier, but the ground beef is more flavorful)
1 small onion, chopped
3 cans of chopped tomatoes with chillies
2 cans of beans, drained. (any kind)
2 tbs of chili powder
salt & pepper to taste.
Recipe:
Cook the meat in a large stock pot until browned.
Add onion and cook for 4-5 minutes until translucent.
Add tomaotes, beans annd chilli powder
Simmer for at least 20 minutes, but I find the longer you simmer, the more the flavors meld together.
Add salt & pepper to taste.
Serve immediately with your favorite toppings. I like greek yoghurt, shredded cheddar cheese, green onions and these awesome cornbread crisps I found at Trader Joe’s.
So easy, right!? The first time I made this, my husband was dubious. He didn’t think it would taste good, because it was almost too simple. I proved him wrong – it is so yummy!
Happy Weekend!
