Prep
This foot peel is by far my most favorite beauty discovery of the year so far. Your feet will be softer and smoother than ever, just like baby feet. Hence, the name. It requires some effort and a bit of time, but the results are absolutely worth it and last longer than a pedicure.
PRO TIPS:
The whole process takes about 1-2 weeks, so make sure you factor that into your equation. (It took my feet about 5 days after the treatment to start peeling and it lasted about 3 days.)
Let your feet soak for at least 20 minutes before putting on the booties.
Leave the booties on for at least an hour and it is best not to move around during that time. Watch your favorite show while you are relaxing with a glass of wine.
Rinse off, dry and wait and let the shedding begin. So gross, yet so satisfying….(If you dare, google some before and after pics. I didn’t want to punish you and include them in this post 😝)
Maintenance
If you like, you can also use this tool beforehand to loosen some of the callouses, but it is not necessary. However, I love this little gadget for maintenance after doing the peel. I use it for a couple of minutes on each foot after the shower and hit all of the rough areas. Then, I follow it up with this cream or this dry heel eliminater. The Gold Bond cream is a long time favorite of mine for all over the body as well as feet. It is rich and moisturizing, but exfoliates at the same time, eliminating those unsightly bumps on the back of your arms and ingrown hairs. The dry heel eliminator is, in my opinion, the best foot cream on the market. It really does soften and heal those dry cracked heels. Again, a great maintenance product. It can be hard to come by and I find it easiest just to order it on Amazon. Lastly, for an extra dose of hydration, these aloe lined socks are fantastic and leave your feet ready for a fun pop of color and a cute pair of sandals.
Color
Applying nail polish yourself can be tricky. Luckily, Essie came out with their fantastic Gel Color polishes that make it super easy to apply color with their patented brush. The end result looks just like a gel mani without the hassle and lasts up to 2 weeks. I definitely recommend using a base coat as well and this one is my hands down all-time favorite. My favorite Essie colors for spring and summer are this pink and this punchy red.
Now all you need is a pair (or two) of cute summer sandals. Here are some of my faves this season. (Click to shop):
